![]() ![]() ![]() Imagine my surprise the first time I used the simulator to sail to Bermuda. I feel marina's are way down the list, as are wharfs. Where the land mass is less than a meter above the water and covered with beaches and trees. I teleported my boat to my local cruising ground. You need charts, topography, city features, trees, etc. The procedure has to be the same without short-cuts to make racing easier. These are small differences, but the devil is in the details! These are must-dos to make sailing a boat in the sim the same as a real boat. It reduces stress on the system, and ensures the sail is furled evenly. ![]() The owners manual of every roller furling system requires this. You do not require the boat to go downwind when furling a sail. In the real world, the mainsail must be stalled to reef. good! However, you do not require the same when reefing. You require the boat to point into the wind. The current simulation does not allow a boat to be hove-to. For instance, a wheel or tiller needs to be locked. That does not exist at all at this time.Įnhance the boat features for sailing. Roll and Yaw should be coordinated with waves. There is a significant difference between the two. You may argue about roll, but in actuality, the horizon rolls, not the boat. The boats currently simulate pitch, but not roll or yaw. I think it is time to address other requests that will further enhance the usability of the game, and the accuracy of the simulator.įirst, improve the simulation. Many requests have been fulfilled for those who wish to race. ![]()
